ICSG 2018 congress and fair in Istanbul

The 6th International Istanbul Smart Grid and Cities Congress and Fair (ICSG) was held on April 25-26, 2018 in Istanbul. ICSG is assembling the stakeholders of the energy industry. Nearly 350 global corporations attended as booth exhibitors, and over 10 thousand industry representatives, experts and academicians visited from more than 50 countries.

The representatives of Astron Informatics Ltd. visited the event, where B2B meetings with executives of distribution companies were arranged by the attaches of Consulate General in Istanbul and Hungarian Embassy in Ankara. Discussions have taken place about the applicability and demonstration possibilities of NTS (Network Training Simulator) developed by Astron. In addition, there were discussions with the representatives of ELDER (Association of Distribution Network Companies in Turkey) about the possibilities of using NTS for educational purposes. During the two-day conference, more than ten successful business meetings were arranged.

„The actual control system of the Turkish power system is based on the technology of the 90’s, so the government decided to upgrade the existing systems and introduce smart technologies gradually. Applying monitoring systems and intelligent solutions are essential in decreasing network losses, in economic network operation and improving consumer satisfaction. Due to the extremely extended electrical network and relatively weak system stability, disturbances occur regularly, so the training of human operators may support system restoration effectively. For these reasons we consider our Network Training Simulator is being a good business opportunity in Turkey.” – said Dr. Attila Kovács, Managing Director of Astron Informatics Ltd.
